Awestruck Tech ("we", "us", "our") developed Australia FM Radio ("the App") as a free, ad-supported app for streaming live Australian FM, AM and internet radio stations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
The App has no accounts, sign-in, or registration, and we do not directly collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. Your favourite stations, theme choice, and other settings are stored only on your device.
Information collected automatically
The App itself does not include analytics or crash-reporting services. The only third-party SDK that collects data is Google AdMob, which is used to show ads (see section 4). AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID) and other device identifiers — used to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent ad fraud.
- Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and ad-related diagnostic and crash data.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address, used for regional ad relevance, not precise tracking.
- App interactions — such as ad views and taps, used for advertising and ad performance measurement.
2. Station Directory
The station list is loaded from the open, community-maintained Radio Browser directory, refreshed about once a day, and cached on your device. When the App fetches the list, the directory's servers receive standard request information such as your IP address. No personal information or listening history is sent to it.
3. Radio Streams & Third-Party Broadcasters
The App streams live audio by connecting directly to each station's publicly available streaming server. Those servers are run by the broadcasters themselves and can see standard connection information such as your IP address. We do not host or record this audio, and each broadcaster's own privacy practices apply to its stream; we are not responsible for their data practices. The App is not affiliated with or endorsed by any radio station or broadcaster.
4. Advertising
The App displays ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use the advertising identifier and other technical data to show relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset or delete your advertising ID from your device's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) menu. The exact permissions requested may vary by Android version and app update; you can review and revoke them at any time in your device's App Settings.
6. How We Use Information
- To operate core features (station browsing and search, playback, favourites, sharing, light/dark theme).
- To serve and measure advertising that keeps the App free.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your favourites, settings, and the cached station list are stored locally on your device and are removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall it. We do not operate servers that store your data. Data collected by AdMob is transmitted over encrypted connections and handled under Google's privacy policy.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Live radio is unfiltered, third-party content. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live (including under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Because the App has no accounts and we store no personal data on our side, most of these choices are made directly in your device settings: reset or delete your advertising ID, revoke permissions, or clear the App's data. 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add analytics or crash reporting to the App. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
